2 reviewsWe went to Mojo Japanese Kitchen for a birthday celebration. The waitress explained how the ordering system worked. Orders are placed on an iPad at the table and the plates are then brought to the table. She explained that any uneaten food is charged for, we thought this was fair enough and presumably is to avoid food being ordered and not even tried. The food was fresh but for me the novelty of ordering via the iPad wore off quite quickly. We made sure we didn’t over order to make sure we didn’t waste anything. A few very small items were left, not whole dishes, a prawn, some rice and an asparagus spear. When the bill came we were charged extra for leaving these items, that is absolutely ridiculous. What if someone doesn’t like a dish at all? How can you penalize someone for not liking something they’ve ordered? I would not recommend this restaurant. Lesley M | 10-10-2018
We had enjoyed a wonderful evening with family and friends which ended in terribly bad taste. We had been pre-informed about the policy that you have to pay for any dishes that you don’t eat. We purposely did not over order any food, however, we did leave 1 prawn (that didn't look too good), a few grains of rice, a few noodles and 1/4 of an asparagus spear wrapped in bacon. When our bill came, they had added an additional charge to our bill for uneaten scraps. Our bill came to €362 for 9 people and we had spent over €100 on drinks. Is a 1.6% surcharge really worth losing hundreds of €'s in future lost custom? Surely the surcharge should be discretionary when it comes to weighing up whether it's worth slapping an unfair surcharge onto the bill. I could understand if we had ordered and left full portions of food but this was not the case. Expat | 08-10-2018
